Today I learned about syllables. A syllable is a part of a word that has one vowel sound. For example, the word apple has two syllables: ap and ple. The word banana has three: ba, na, na.At first, I was a little confused. But then I tried clapping my hands for each syllable, and it helped me understand. It was actually fun! What helped me was listening to examples, watching a video, and doing practice exercises. That made things clearer. What I still need to practice is dividing longer or new words ?Sometimes I’m not sure how many syllables a word has. My goal for tomorrow is to find 10 new words in English and try to count their syllables by myself.
