My Daily Reflection on May 30,2025

 Today I watched a movie called Divergent. I watched it to help me learn English. The movie was interesting and fun. I listened carefully to the words the people said. Some words were new and hard to understand, but I tried to follow the story. I learned some new words like “faction,” “initiation,” and “brave.” I also listened to how the people spoke English. Their pronunciation and emotions helped me understand more. Watching English movies helps me learn. I want to watch more movies like this. I hope my English will get better every day.

 Today I sing a song called "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. I really like this song because it is calm, sweet, and full of love. The lyrics are beautiful, and I enjoy singing them. My favorite part is “I found a love for me…” it feels so soft and romantic.While singing, I tried to pronounce the words correctly. It helped me practice my English in a fun way. I also learned some new words and how to express feelings through music.Singing this song made me feel happy and peaceful. I want to keep singing English songs to enjoy the music and improve my English at the same time.

 Today I learned about syllables. A syllable is a part of a word that has one vowel sound. For example, the word apple has two syllables: ap and ple. The word banana has three: ba, na, na.At first, I was a little confused. But then I tried clapping my hands for each syllable, and it helped me understand. It was actually fun! What helped me was listening to examples, watching a video, and doing practice exercises. That made things clearer.What I still need to practice is dividing longer or new words ?Sometimes I’m not sure how many syllables a word has. My goal for tomorrow is to find 10 new words in English and try to count their syllables by myself.

 Today I read the first part of The Secret Garden. The story is about a little girl named Mary Lennox. She lived in India, but after her parents died, she had to move to her uncle’s house in England. Mary is not friendly, and she often feels lonely. The story was interesting, and I could understand most of it. I found some new words like maid, servant, and lonely. I also liked how the writer described Mary’s feelings and the new place she went to.I enjoyed reading today. It helped me learn new English words and understand the story better. I want to keep reading to find out what will happen to Mary and the secret garden.

I'm gratefull to Allah. Today, I more learned about grammar. I just wrote a paragraph about effectiveness of learning grammar, and after we wrote a paragraph, discussed with friend next to me. And after that, we chek the grammar in chat GPT. It give me rating of our written, start from 10-90, and me getting score 50/90. I'm happy thougt I think that's poor. I'm still proud of my self and I promise to must more learn. Therefore we discussed about grammar issue, word of specialized of vocabulary not just using formal languange but up to you, you can describe anything with your word and lanaguange. After modal not allowed after that verb 3. And do you know? Why "Because" not allowed in begining of word? Because it hear more indonesian languange, but for informal writing no problem, but for formal sentence thats so distrub the paragraph. And we were advised that we must be learn about subject verb agreement and noun pharase

My Daily reflection on May 23, 2025

 Today, I did the EF SET test to check my English skills. The test had reading and listening parts. The reading part was not too hard. I could read slowly and think before I answered. But the listening part was difficult. Sometimes I didn’t understand what the people were saying, especially when they spoke fast. and After I finished the test, I got a certificate. My score was 51. I felt happy because I finished the test and got a result. But I also know that I need to study more, especially listening. From this test, I learned that I must practice more. I want to listen to English every day like songs, videos, and podcasts. I also want to read more and learn new words.Even though my score is not very high, I feel motivated to keep going. This is not the end. I will keep learning and improving

Today I learned about visual aids in a presentation. I think this topic is good and useful. Sometimes when we talk in front of people, they don’t understand fast. So we can use pictures or slides to help. I learned that the design must be simple, not too many words or colors. We also need to think about the people who watch our slides. What do they need to see? That is important. I know PowerPoint already, but today I know about Canva too. I never use it before, but it looks fun and easy. I want to try it next time. Also, I learned how to use the visuals when we speak. We must not read all the words on the slide. We need to look at the audience, point to the slide, and talk with our own words. This is not easy for me, but I want to try. I hope that I can make better presentations next time with good visual aids and improve my speaking skill.

Today, I'm grateful to Allah because even though I didn't attend any classes, I still learned about grammar. I used an English grammar application called English Council. I started from Beginner Pack 1 and studied up to the topic of Imperatives.

Whenever I started a test, I searched for explanations on ChatGPT, because it made things easier to understand.

My daily reflection on may 20,2025

Today I read The Secret Garden until chapter 2. This is not easy for me because the book is full English and some words I don't know. But I try to understand the story. I don’t translate all, only the difficult words. I learn that if I want to improve my English reading, I must read more like this.Chapter 1 talk about Mary, a girl who is not happy and not friendly. She live in India but her parents don’t care about her. Then in chapter 2, she go to England and the house is big and quiet. I feel sad for Mary but also curious what will happen next.When I read, sometimes I stop because I don’t know the meaning. But now I try to guess first. I think my vocabulary is little bit improve because I see the same word many times. I also learn new expressions and grammar, even I don’t understand all. This activity help me to more enjoy English. Before I am afraid to read English book, but now I start to like it.

My Daily Reflection on May 19, 2025

 Today, I'm greatefull of Allah, because today I worked on an essay about global warming, but it still needs a lot of revisions. My hook, background information, and thesis statement didn’t really match the topic. I felt a bit disappointed, but I understand that writing takes time and practice. I just need to keep learning and improving. In another class, I learned about problems in education and how to solve them. It made me realize how many people still struggle to get a good education. It also reminded me of why I want to be a teacherto help and make a difference. We also studied about stress, rhythm, intonation, and accent in English phonology. It was interesting to learn how these things affect the way we speak and understand English, especially for teaching. At the end of the day, we did a grammar test100 questions in 10 minutes! I managed to answer 70, and I feel proud of that. Of course, there’s still room to grow, but I’m happy with my progress.

Today taught me that learning is not always easy, but every step brings me closer to my goals.

Today I learned some English slang. At first, I didn’t understand it. But now I know it’s fun and useful. I learned words like “what’s up?”, “no worries”, and “chill”. These are simple and people use them every day. I think they make English sound cool. Some slang is funny. “Break a leg” means “good luck”. I didn’t know that before! 

I want to learn more slang. It helps me understand English better, and I enjoy it.

 Today, I learned about Public speaking of presentation, such as 1. know Your audience, that's important because we should know who the audience, because if their a student of school we have to explain according to their level. 2. Practice Repeated also important because can build confident, because more we practice, more We can confident, Improve Fluency, if We practice repeat can clear the explanation of presentation. 3. To structure the presentation, that's important because, if We explain the presentation with the structure can understandable and not confusing the audience. 4. To anticipate a question, so we have to understand and know the material before presentation, so we able to answer the question from audience with clearly and not get out from the material. And for the last Desaining engaging visual edge, so we must make a visual or PPT that can interesting the audience, not more the task and only the point, so it can't make boring and dizy.

Today I listened to Unit 19 from Developing Tactics for Listening. It was about touring a city. I learned how people ask for directions, talk about places to visit, and suggest things to do in a city. Some useful phrases I heard were“How do I get to…?" And another, I also learned about Pronouncation At first, I didn’t catch everything, but after listening a few times, it became clearer. I also practiced saying some of the sentences to improve my pronunciation. This lesson was fun and helpful. I feel more confident now to understand and talk about travel in English.

Today is holiday so I don't go to campus. I just stay in Ma'had and doing simple things. In the afternoon, I read The Secret Garden. I read like five pages. The story was interesting, Mary still explore the big house and hear some strange sound. I think maybe there is something hidden. 

I like reading this book because it’s make me feel calm and enjoy. The garden part is so mystery and beautiful in my mind. Maybe tomorrow I will read again if I have time. Reading in holiday is nice, not boring like I think before.

Today, I learned some time learning English again. I started with Duolingo to review vocabulary and basic grammar. It was simple, but helpful. Then, I listened to a short podcast. I didn’t understand everything, but I paused and repeated some parts, and wrote down new words to learn.In the afternoon, I watched a YouTube video about Present Perfect Tense. It used to confuse me, but now I understand it a bit better. I also read a short article in English, and even though it was challenging, I’m glad I tried. I know my progress is slow, but I’m happy I keep going. Step by step, I believe I will get better.

Today I learned about compound-complex sentences from a YouTube video. At first, it sounded complicated, but the explanation was simple and easy to follow. I found out that these sentences have at least two independent clauses and one dependent clause. One example from the video was: "Although I was tired, I finished my homework, and I went to bed early." It helped me see how different parts of the sentence work together.

I even tried making my own sentence: "Because it was raining, we stayed inside, and we watched a movie."

I realized that using this kind of sentence can make my writing better and more interesting. I still need more practice, but I feel more confident now.

Today, I'm greateful to Allah, because today I more learned about English language. For the first about Speaking of presentation , I have concluded that we can deliver a good presentation if we can make relavant Idea about the topic and still focus, not explain another topic, we must be confindent and calm, and don't speak too fast because it's can't understanable, sometimes we interact with the audience so they not feel bored, we don't stuck looking at screen, because it can be not naturallness of presentation, and also we have to manage the time to deliver our presentation. Do you know? Today, I also learned in Instagram reels about grammar and Vocabulary with the quis, it was so fun, I really enjoy, and I'm totally not felt tired, one thing I learned is different function of Want and Want to. "Want" to want a thing like apple, money, clothes, and another, and also can want a situation, for the example rich, beautiful, and another situation, can also (want + noun), for the example "I want a car" .  Today, I learned about Listening on developing tactics for listening E book about unit 16 Movie and unit 17 fears. I really enjoy this class because I can improve my listening ,Vocabulary, and pronouncation. We use English teaching system, so we fill a question with Listening the audio, not only that, we also give a reason why we choose that, and about Pronouncation of the word, for examples  "is it = izit", "what's on = whatson" and another word, and we learned about tone of pronouncation the sentence.

Today, I learned about Developing Tactics for Listening (Unit 14: Problem Shopping) and Extensive Reading. In the listening unit, I learned about common shopping problems, like receiving broken items, getting the wrong size, or wanting to return things. I listened to conversations between customers and store employees and learned phrases like “Can I get a refund?” and “I’d like to exchange this.” The easy part was understanding when the problem was clear, but it was trickier when the conversation was fast or unclear. To improve, I’ll listen to the audio again and practice the important phrases. I’ll also try making my own conversations about shopping problems. For Extensive Reading, I read more of my English story today. It was interesting, and I learned some new words. I’m happy because reading in English is getting easier. Tomorrow, I’ll keep reading and try writing a short summary.

Today, I'm grateful to Allah because I was able to improve my English knowledge.
This morning, we had a midterm test on essay writing. We had to write five paragraphs about an environmental issue. I realized that one of my mistakes was repeating the same vocabulary, and actually, that's not good. Mr. Luqman also said it was a bad habit. Now, I know that the question "What do you do?" is asking about your job, not what you're doing right now. For example:"What do you do?" , Answer: "I'm a college student."

Alhamdulillah, now I understand that.
Before, I thought it meant "What are you doing?", but I was wrong. Mr. Luqman said that if you want to develop your English skills such as writing, listening, and others you must study and practice more. You can practice listening in English conversations on YouTube, especially those spoken by native speakers. That way, you can learn the accent, improve your pronunciation, and expand your vocabulary. Did you know? Many English speakers say their English is good, but when asked certain questions, they don't always understand. For us as college students, learning proper English is important because it helps shape the way we speak.

My Daily Reflection on May 2, 2025

 I am grateful to Allah because today I got more knowledge, which is continuing to study from the YouTube channel of Ritueli Daeli. Today, I studied chapter 5 and 6. I try to study from many sources on my day off so that I can increase my knowledge. I study grammar. Actually, the chapter is still very basic, but it's okay I feel happy and still enjoy it even though I repeat it again and again. It makes me understand more.

 Today, I learned in YouTube chanel. The Chanel's name is Ritueli Daeli, and are You know? This chanel have any test if you finished up to chapter 40, and if you already done it, so you get E-certificate, and now I was learned until chapter 4, there are still many more right?, but no problem, I'm still learning, even tonight. Fighting for me!!

Today I learned about listening. Compared to before, I feel that my listening skill is getting better than yesterday. There were only a few unfamiliar vocabulary words that made it difficult for me to understand the sounds.
